Overview

North Star Journeys has set out to create a travel and education experience unlike any other. We have established routes, made contacts, and sponsored local individuals in the creation of their own companies within the tour country to allow us open interaction with the culture, the locations, and the people.

Normally, this level of interaction with a locale does not come from spending one month in a country. Accessing the web of relationships we have created, our travelers are inserted into a culture beneath the surface for the adventure of a lifetime. Our journeys are comprised of small groups that never exceed ten travelers and are accompanied by professional local guides dedicated to your trip. A North Star Journeys’ representative also begins, ends, and intersects the adventure at certain junctures to guide travelers through the Learning the Art of Travel Program. Our goal is not to isolate you from the country, not to protect you from the experience, but to allow you the freedom to interact with the culture and your journey on a level you determine while coming up to speed with Asia and all it encompasses. Our intention is to provide you with the experience of being invited into a country as a friend, not as a tourist.

North Star Journeys has designed a one-of-a-kind education program that you are invited to access. It gives our travelers an insight into the acquired knowledge from decades of trial-and-error learning taken from the road less traveled. It is not a mandatory component of the journey, but rather it is available to you on a daily basis; you administer it as needed for your absorption. The program consists of written material on each of the points found in the Learning the Art of Travel Program along with daily discussions and impromptu “classes” regarding pertinent points that arise as you travel. You are free to request more in-depth involvement in the program from both NSJ Guides as well as from the local guides or you are free not to participate at all. The curriculum is set: your involvement is not. What you take from the program is directly related to the time and effort you put in and it is entirely up to you.
